In ancient Roman times, milestones were placed along the main roadway, the Appian Way, to help travelers measure their progress. A special marker called the “Golden Milestone”, stood at the center of Rome as the beginning point from which all distances were calculated. The United States has its own version of the Golden Milestone, known as the “Zero Milestone”. It stands outside the grounds of the White House, near the South Lawn.

St. Stephen Church also has a version of the Golden Milestone and it is you, Temple Choir. Under the phenomenal direction of Joe Leavell, you are the special marker by which all church choirs could be measured.

You are the benchmark for innovation, excellence, and the glorification of God. You are the point of reference for praise and worship through song.

Each time you perform you help us experience first hand, the joy and blessing of outwardly praising God.

Your many accomplishments give me delight and gratitude, but your greatest accomplishment will always be your wise decision to give our church the greatest blessing they will ever experience – a solo performance from me!

Congratulations on being the first church choir in the state of Kentucky to ever record a live CD for national distribution!

Thanks for your many years of dedicated service in outstanding music ministry.
